Summer consisted of:  tennis, jogs in the neighborhood, family time, the Law Office, ice cream, snow cones, golf, 2 weeks in Toledo for a class and camp, seeing Mike on weekends, and COUNTRY CONCERT!

But, Summer is over.  :(  BUT...amazing things happened this summer as a result of a lot of prayer and an awesome God.  First, Mike found a job!  He's working in Archbold, Ohio at the Farmer's and Merchant's State Bank.  He holds the title of a credit analyst and works with loan proposals.  He found a very nice two bedroom apartment in Defiance.  Second, Lindsay and her friend Becky were kind enough to let me live with them this year.  Both girls are getting their Master's degree in speech therapy at Bowling Green.  So four of us girls are living in this two bedroom apartment here in BG and it really is working out nicely.  I really like BG...there is tons to do here and it's all mostly in walking distance. Oh, and it only takes me about 50 minutes to visit Mike which is a lot better than the 4 hours that we thought it might be!  Third, after a lot of hassel, the field placement office arranged for me to student teach at St. Thomas Aquinas in east Toledo.  I really wanted to teach in a catholic school setting, and this school is perfect because it is about a 25 minute drive for me, which is definately do-able.  So I pretty much worried for nothing.  God is great and everything works out the way he wants it to.  :)

So, student teaching has been a great experience so far.  The kids are very talkative and energetic, but what can you expect of 5th graders?  I started teaching my unit on Number the Stars Tuesday and the kids are really seeming to like the book!  I start teaching science, grammar, and health here pretty soon.  I am happy to be in a school where the bible is listed on their school supply list.  One kid raised his hand today and asked the teacher if she has ever read the book of Revelations before (she said no...I don't think she is a Christian) because he said it was kinda scary how the world was gonna end.  Then he started showing the other kids the "freaky" parts and they all seemed interested.  Such a different setting than the public schools where you can't even mention God.

My social life is pretty much over though.  I go to bed around 10:30 every night and on the weekends I am visiting Mike or working at the Rec.  I went to Jake's two weeks ago...oh how I missed that bar over the summer.  Meg and Linz and I went to a bar here in BG one night too.  But...next Friday I am heading up to Windsor with Kendra, some of her friends, Meg and maybe Linz.  Then, football season starts and there will be a little pre and post partying going on then.  So although I thought college life would be over once May came, it really isn't.  I am just experiencing college on a tamer level and with different people.

Last night was one of the more fun nights that I've had my senior year.  Megan and I got the chance to hang out and we're REBELS!  :)  Lindsay and Katie had this Thug party and I made Megan go with me.  The invitation said BYOB, so we picked up some 40's (in brown paper bags).  While at the gas station, we were asked to buy some dudes some beer, and we later got yelled at by Mike for only making a 50 cent profit.  Oops!  haha.  As we were pulling out of the gas station, we saw some really nice crates by the dumpster, so we pulled up and stuffed 4 of them in my trunk.  We later found out that those get picked up and Marathon gets money off them.  Opps again!  lol.  The party was interesting to say the least...everyone was hilarious in their outfits!

Then Megan and I went to Jakes and had a few drinks.  We found a table and chit chatted for awhile.  It was just really good to catch up with her.

Then we went to Evansdale for another party.  It was good to see people, but for the majority of the time, Megan and I just stood around and talked.  We talked to Mike and Travis some too.  Megan is just one hilarious girl.  I have sooooo much fun with her.  I am really glad that she's not graduating this year so we can hang out next year.

I am mentally and physically exhausted.  I don't want to write one more paper.  I just turned in my Folklore portfolio today.  The research paper alone was 10 pages.  The portfolio was almost 40 pages long though!  Now I am trying to write a paper on a poem I don't understand.  I thought it was about drinking, but my professor said it was about writing poetry.  Go figure!  I am just so frustrated.  After that I have to write my TSOC take home final, my final essay in Advanced Comp, and my take home final in Folklore.  I am soooooo ready for summer.

I am looking forward to spending time with the family, playing some tennis, going for my nightly jogs around the neighborhood, see the women at the law office, cutting the grass, taking the dog for walks, eating a lot of ice cream, playing softball, reading some good books....summer is just such a wonderful time of the year!

Well, I shouldn't procrastinate anymore.  Off to write one of these papers....or maybe I will just go out and have fun instead.  :)

Never Gonna Feel Like That Again by Kenny Chesney

It was my life and it was fun - Another season of my life, it's done
Another race I'm glad I got to run - Another chapter of my life, it's over
No, I'm never gonna feel like that again - Time's rushin' by me like the wind
Never be as young as I was then - No, I'm never gonna feel like that again

Well, it's my life and it's sure fun - Another season of my life's begun
Another race I'm glad I get to run - Another chapter of my life, I'm writing
No, I'm never gonna feel like this again - Time's rushin' by me like the wind
Gotta grab each moment that I can - Cuz' I'm never gonna feel like this again

I haven't written in forever because I've just been so busy!  The last two weeks are always the worst.  I have 2 papers, a portfolio, 2 exams, and 2 take home exams just in these 2 weeks.  Yikes!

I have been keeping busy looking at apartments.  Natasha and I planned to live together next year, but about 2 weeks ago, she had a better offer and dropped me like a bad habbit.  I am irritated and frustrated not because I don't have a roomate, but because this is information I would like to have known way before now.  Apartments shopping during the busiest part of the semester is not my idea of a good time.  Also, every apartment I am interested in will only give me a 6 month lease instead of month-to-month and they are all really expensive.  I really wish I had a roomated to cut the costs in half.  I guess I will just spend every dime I have.  It might actually be nice to have a place of my own.  I'm feeling the role of the "independent woman" coming through. :)

I am so extremely sad for the end of the school year.  I think I might bawl at Mike's graduation.  Hopfully I will just be bored stiff and save the crying for another time.  But seriously, the best years of my life are going to be officially over in 2 weeks because next year doesn't really count.  I will be student teaching (40+ hrs a week) plus working part time at the Rec.  No time for fun...no time to be a college kid.  I will be working in the real world and missing the old days when we all stayed out late and had a blast.  Geez, this sucks.  Maybe if I were actually graduating for real and I had a job lined up and a really cool apartment, I would feel differently about all this.  Who knows....maybe not.

I must get going now.  I have so much to do in so little time.  For some strange reason I said yes to training a building manager at the Rec this week.  The extra hours and extra pay were too tempting to turn down, but now I am really regreting it.  I am just so exhausted.  I need a break, and that will not be for awhile.  I am moving out of my house here in Toledo Sun May 9th and then starting at the Law Office in Dayton at 7:30am on Mon the 10th.  Again, the money was too tempting to turn down and I am gonna regret this!  Help!
